The town hereby exempts from taxation under this subchapter the purchase of the taxable items enumerated herein made by the United States of America, the state, all political subdivisions and agencies of the state, and all municipalities. The town also exempts the purchases made by any recognized church in this state for use exclusively for church purposes.
