(A) Regular meetings. The regular stated meetings of the Village Board shall be held in the Village Hall Building on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. When the meeting date falls upon a legal holiday, the meeting shall be held on the following Monday at the same hour and place, unless otherwise designated. Adjourned and reconvened meetings may be held at such times as may be determined by the Trustees.
(B) Special meetings.
(1) Special meetings may be called by the Mayor or by any three members of the Board by written request or notice being filed with the Village Clerk at least 36 hours prior to the time specified for such meeting.
(2) At least 24 hours’ written notice of such special meeting shall be given by the Clerk, which notice shall specify the time and purpose of such meeting and shall be delivered electronically to each member of the Board, if such member can be found, and if such member cannot be found, then by leaving a copy of such notice at the home of such Board member in the presence of an adult member of the family of the Trustee.
(C) Open meetings. All meetings of the Board shall be open to the public, except executive sessions thereof, pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/1 et seq.
(D) Accessibility.
(1) The village shall enforce handicapped accessibility standards that comply with and/or in accordance with the 504 Accessibility Assessment as adopted by the United States Department of Justice.
(2) The village hereby adopts by reference the rules and regulations regarding handicapped accessibility issued by the United States Department of Justice.
(3) The village will notify the public and other interested parties that village meetings, hearings, and conferences will be held in accessible locations and that assistance will be provided, upon request, to interested participants with handicaps.
(4) Complaints will be accepted, noted, and discussed at subsequent Village Board meetings.
(5) All future construction and renovation work involving public facilities will be designed to accommodate the handicapped.
(6) Transportation, facilities to communicate with hearing-impaired persons, and other required measures needed by handicapped individuals will be available to those individuals interested in participating in community activities, provided enough advance notice is given to local officials.
