§ 50.58 CONNECTION CHARGES.
   (A)   Water connections.
      (1)   Regular residential. The fee to be charged for each individual firm, corporation, or other entity shall be $1,800 per water connection for a regular residential-type connection; subject to the provision, however, that in the event a developer develops a new subdivision and assumes and pays all the charges for the installation of the improvements such as streets, the water lines, and other costs in the development of the new subdivision, the water tap-on fee shall be waived for those houses that are added to the system in the new subdivision.
      (2)   Commercial operations. The water connection fee for commercial operations may be determined by the Public Works Manager; said determination to be based upon the labor and materials used to make said water connection, and a reasonable percentage of profit. Under no circumstances shall said water connection fee be less than $2,300.
      (3)   Water service line installation. The village shall install a water service line from the municipal water main to the property line of the water user; except that, in no event shall the village install more than 60 feet of water service line from the main. In the event the property line of the user is more than 60 feet from the water main, the property owner shall be responsible for the installation of such additional water line.
   (B)   Sewer connections.
      (1)   Installation charges. The following charges are hereby established in connection with installation of sewer connections in the village.
         (a)   A $1,000 bond shall be paid for digging in village streets.
         (b)   A $500 bond shall be paid if no village streets are involved, but damage occurs in village-owned property such as sidewalks and ditches.
         (c)   A $500 charge shall be assessed against any contractor/homeowner who digs in the village streets, although such installer did not originally intend to do so. Said $500 assessment shall be paid before the sewer installation is approved.
         (d)   The bond shall be used to cover the cost of any street repair or ditch work in the event the installer fails to do so.
         (e)   All bonds must be in the form of a cashier’s check or money order. No cash or personal checks shall be accepted.
         (f)   All bonds must be paid in full before any work is commenced.
         (g)   there shall be a sewer connection fee of $800.
      (2)   Inspections.
         (a)   An inspection fee of $50 shall be paid before any sewer work is commenced.
         (b)   All sewer installations shall be inspected by the Public Works Manager, or his or her authorized designee, before being covered. The Public Works Manager, or his or her authorized designee, shall be the only village representatives allowed to sign off on sewer lateral inspections.
         (c)   Any inspection requested for a weekend/holiday shall be made at the discretion of the Public Works Manager.
         (d)   In the event that an inspection is scheduled for a weekend/holiday, the inspection fee shall be a minimum of $150, or actual costs incurred, whichever is greater. All weekend/holiday inspections must be scheduled by the installer at least 48 hours prior to the day of inspection.
