(A) The position of Lead Investigator is hereby created within the Village Police Department. The position shall be filled in accordance with the codified ordinances, by the Mayor and subject to confirmation of Council. In addition to his or her duties as a police officer, the Lead Investigator shall be responsible for and manage all criminal investigations assigned to him or her by the Village Police Chief and shall perform such other duties within the Police Department as may from time to time be assigned to him or her by the Police Chief.
(B) The Lead Investigator shall be paid a stipend in addition to his or her regular salary, subject to adjustment as determined by Council from time to time
