(A) Salary of the Police Chief. The salary of the Police Chief shall be as set by Council.
(B) Salary of full-time patrol officer. The salary of the full-time patrol officer shall be as set by Council.
(C) Hourly wage of part-time police patrol officer.
(1) The hourly wage of a village part-time police patrol officer shall be as set by Council.
(2) All part-time patrolmen shall also be commissioned as auxiliary officers. Any part-time and auxiliary officers shall be required to serve at least one eight-hour shift per calendar month as unpaid auxiliary officers prior to paid services in either capacity.
(3) Failure to complete the initial eight-hour period when called for duty, without valid excuse, for two consecutive months, shall be considered neglect of duty and shall subject the officer to discharge. The Chief of Police shall determine the validity of the excuse and shall establish such other rules as may be necessary to carry out the procedures of this section.
(D) Probationary status. Deputies on probationary status shall receive such rate of pay as shall be designated by Council.
(E) Court business. All police officers required to attend court on village business shall be compensated, subject to a three hour maximum, if the court appearance requires them to attend court on hours other than their regularly-scheduled shift.
