§ 31.112 ELECTRIC LINEMAN.
   (A)   The Village Administrator is hereby authorized to employ an electric lineman to assist the Electric Superintendent in the management, operation and maintenance of the village electric distribution system, and when not so engaged in this work to perform any other duties designated by the Village Administrator or Mayor. The objective for this position is the completion of the Merchant Electric Lineman’s Course, or equivalent, and passage of any related tests, and the possession of the abilities outlined in the line maintainer criteria schedule as prescribed by the Village Administrator and amended from time to time. The wage scale based on the accomplishment of these qualifications shall be as set by Council from time to time.
   (B)   The individual shall be hired at the entry level wage and compensated according to the wage scale as the progressive levels of training and ability are attained. This in-house training is expected over a four-year period, but the lineman may be compensated according to existing abilities. Verification of the line maintainer levels will be made by the Village Administrator with the advice of the Electric Superintendent and the AMP-Ohio Circuit Rider. Any trainee not attaining expected results in specified time periods may be subject to dismissal.
