§ 96.26 MEMBERSHIP; TERMS.
   (A)   The Parks and Recreation Board shall be composed of four members appointed by the President of the Town Council on the basis of their interest in and knowledge of parks and recreation. Not more than two members shall be of the same political party. A fifth member shall be designated by the Board of Trustees of the town’s public schools.

   (B)   (1)   As a term expires, each new appointment shall be made by the President of the Town Council for a term of four years. All terms expire on the first Monday in January, but a member shall continue in office until his or her successor is appointed. If an appointment for a new term is not made by the President by the first Monday in April, the incumbent shall serve another term.
      (2)   If a vacancy occurs, the President of the Town Council shall appoint a new member for the remainder of the unexpired term. If the Board of Trustees of the town’s public schools does not make a new appointment by the first Monday in April after the expiration of the previous appointment’s term, the incumbent shall serve another term.
