For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
HAWKER. Anyone who goes about the streets, or elsewhere in the city, selling or offering for sale, any goods by public outcry, placards, signals or any other device designed to attract purchasers.
ITINERANT DEALER. Any transient person or any person who shall engage temporarily in the making or selling of any kinds of goods, wares or merchandise within the city, regardless of whether the goods, wares or merchandise are peddled from house to house, sold on the streets or other public places, or sold from any room, branch store, establishment or concern, building, structure or lot owned, rented or leased for the purpose of carrying on a temporary business.
PEDDLER. Anyone who goes about the streets or from house to house selling or offering for sale, any goods, wares, merchandise or other articles.
SOLICITOR. Any transient person who goes from house to house or from place to place in the city selling or taking orders for, or offering to sell or take orders for goods, wares, merchandise, service or any other thing of value whatsoever.
