§ 70.01  DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLE.  Vehicles of the Fire Department, state and county and municipal police departments, and ambulances when on emergency calls, shall be considered authorized emergency vehicles.
   INDIVIDUAL PARKING SPACE.  A portion of the paved surface of the street of sufficient length or depth from the sidewalk curb to accommodate a vehicle to be parked, as shall be specified and marked off by the Board of Public Works and Safety.
   INTERSECTION.  The area embraced within the prolongation of the lateral curb lines or, if none, then the lateral boundary lines of 2 or more streets or highways which join one another at an angle whether or not 1 of the streets or highways crosses the other.
   OPERATOR.  Any person in actual control of any vehicle.

   PARKING.  The standing of a vehicle on a street whether the vehicle is occupied or not and whether the vehicle is occupied or not by an operator for a period of time in excess of 2 minutes.

   PEDESTRIAN.  Any person afoot.
   SILENT POLICE OFFICER.  Any suitable device, safety zone, post, sign, standard or automatic signal light placed within any street or public place as a warning or for control or direction of traffic.
   TRAFFIC OFFICE.  The police headquarters of the city.

   VEHICLE.  Any motor vehicle, automobile, motorcycle, truck, trailer, semitrailer, truck tractor, bus, school bus, recreational vehicle, construction vehicle, tractor and bicycle.
