§ 53.053  SETTING OF METERS; DISTURBING METER.
   (A)   (1)   All meters shall be put in and connected up under the direction and in conformity with the rules and regulations of the Waterworks, whether placed on premises, in basement or in the street, the Waterworks reserves the right to decide the location.
      (2)   When placed in premises where a hot water tank is used, the meter must not be placed nearer than 20 feet of the hot water tank and a good check valve must be placed in the supply pipe between the hot water tank and the meter.
      (3)   If this rule is not complied with the consumer will be charged with all damages to the meter caused by hot water.

   (B)   (1)   No person, unless authorized by the Waterworks, shall connect, disconnect, remove or repair or otherwise disturb any meter. The Waterworks will repair all meters 2 inches and less in size free of charge.
      (2)   Actual cost of repairs on all meters larger than 2 inches will be charged to consumers having the meters.
