The Chief of Police may determine those portions of any highway within the Village where overtaking and passing other traffic or driving to the left of the center or centerline of the roadway would be especially hazardous, and may, by appropriate signs or markings on the highway, indicate the beginning and end of such zones. When such signs or markings are in place and clearly visible, every operator of a vehicle shall obey the directions thereof, notwithstanding any other provisions of this Traffic Code.

(a) Lake Shore Boulevard from the westerly edge of the Village to Mather Lane (not dedicated) is hereby designated as a hazardous zone where overtaking and passing other traffic or driving to the left of the center or center line of the roadway is especially hazardous.
