149.09 EMPLOYEE PROBATIONARY PERIOD.
   (a)   All new or promoted employees are subject to a probationary period as follows:
         Full time employee - one (1) year from date of appointment.
Part time, seasonal part time, or temporary part time employee - 1040 hours.    
   During the employee's probationary period, the employee may be terminated without cause. In the case of promotion, the employee may be placed back into his former position if the Mayor considers the employee unsuitable for the intended position.
   (b)   The Street Commissioner, with the approval of the Mayor, may extend the probationary period for an additional six (6) months for a Service Department Employee if warranted. During such additional six (6) months, the employee's rate of pay will remain at the rate established for a probationary employee.
