(a) All public officials and public employees of the Village should be fully aware of the objectives expressed by the electorate and the programs developed to attain and maintain those objectives. Appointive officials and employees shall adhere to the rules of work and performance established for their positions by the appropriate authority.
(b) Officials and employees should not exceed their authority or breach the law, or ask others to do so, and they should strive to work in full cooperation with other public officials and employees and the general public unless prohibited from so doing by law or by the officially recognized confidentiality of their work.
