Pretreatment of industrial wastes from major contributing industries prior to discharge to the treatment works is required and is subject to the Rules and Regulations adopted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and published in 40 CFR 403 "General Pretreatment Regulations for Existing and New Sources of Pollution", and 40 CFR 136 "Guidelines Establishing Test Procedures for New Sources of Pollution", and 40 CFR 136 "Guidelines Establishing Test Procedures for Analysis of Pollutants, in addition to any more stringent requirements established by the Village, and any subsequent Federal Guidelines and Rules and Regulations.
