§ 114.15 VEHICLE INSPECTION, LICENSE, AND MAINTENANCE.
   (A)   Taxicab inspection and licensing required. Prior to the use and operation of any taxicab vehicle under the provisions of this chapter, the vehicle shall be thoroughly examined and inspected under the provisions of O.A.C. § 4501:2-1, motor vehicle inspection, demonstrating compliance by display of associated inspection sticker, and found to comply with such additional reasonable rules and regulations as may be prescribed by the Taxicab License Board. These rules and regulations shall be promulgated to provide safe transportation, and shall specify such safety equipment and regulatory devices as the Board shall deem necessary. The vehicle shall also meet all other requirements established by the laws of the state for motor vehicles operated on the public streets and highways. When the operator of a taxicab demonstrates compliance with this requirement, and verifies that a taxicab has met the standards specified by the Board, and demonstrates that the certificate of insurance required by § 114.04 has been amended to include the vehicle for which license is requested, the Taxicab License Board shall issue a license.
   (B)   Periodic inspections. Every taxicab operating under this chapter shall be annually inspected under the provisions of O.A.C. § 4501:2-1, motor vehicle inspection to ensure the continued maintenance of safe operating conditions.
   (C)   Safe and sanitary maintenance. Every taxicab operating under this chapter shall be kept in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition.
