§ 98.41 BOND AND LICENSE REQUIRED; STREETS.
   A bond in the sum of $5,000 shall be filed with the Public Works Director by anyone planning to open or break into the streets, public ways, or public grounds. This bond shall be conditioned to secure and hold the city harmless against any and all damages arising from the opening or excavation so made, and further conditioned that the applicant shall backfill and place in good and safe condition, to the satisfaction of the Public Works Director, all openings and excavations so made and shall replace or repair the pavement. An annual bond may be given under this provision on January 1 of each year, conditioned as above, as to all openings and excavations made in the streets, public ways, and public places by the principal in such bond during the term of one year from the date.
