(A) City approval. In addition to notice provisions provided elsewhere in this chapter, any person performing work that is above, below, or adjacent to or impacting the public right-of-way shall contact the Safety Director to make notice of such work and obtain any necessary permits. This notice shall include a time frame for the work and any safety precautions to protect the public. The Safety Director may request further information and/or deny a request that will negatively impact the safety and accessibility of the public right-of-way.
(B) Sound practices. Those working in the public right-of-way shall maintain proper barricades, fences, signal lights, or other protection as shall conform to applicable ordinances or safety regulations, and shall maintain access to private entrance walks and safe accommodations for pedestrian traffic and shall, as far as possible, maintain access to private driveways. All work must comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations in all respects, including compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
