(A) The Fire Department of the town shall be a Volunteer Fire Department, as authorized by the statutes of the state.
(B) The Town Council shall appoint a Chief and an Assistant Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department.
(C) The Assistant Chief of the Fire Department shall possess all of the powers of the Chief in the absence from the town of the Chief, or his or her temporary disability, function as Chief.
(D) The Chief of the Fire Department shall appoint such persons willing to serve as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department who shall obey the rules and regulations promulgated by the Chief and approved by the Town Council.
