§ 34.40 ADOPTION.
   (A)   The city recognizes the responsibility to safeguard personal customer information within the workplace.
   (B)   The creation and implementation of an Identity Theft Prevention Program will identify, detect, mitigate and update red flags that signal the possibility of identity theft in connection with the opening of a “covered account” or any existing “covered account.”
   (C)   This program will utilize guidelines set forth in the Federal Trade Commission “Red Flags Rules and Address Discrepancy Rules” under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act of 2003 (FACTAct Red Flag Policy 2003). The Red Flag Policy and Identity Theft Protection Program, attached to the ordinance codified herein, as Exhibit A, is hereby adopted and approved.
