(A) Work zones are areas where workers and equipment occupy portions of the street and street right-of-way for maintenance, utility work, construction, deliveries, moving or other purposes that cannot be accomplished without impacting the normal flow of vehicular or pedestrian traffic.
(B) All work being done in the city right-of-way must be protected by signing, barricading or other means in accordance with city policy. Motorists approaching street work zones must reduce their speed in these areas to no faster than the posted speed in the work zone, and shall drive with utmost caution so that they can examine the area for their own safety, the safety of passengers and the safety of the workers, before proceeding through or past work zones.
