The Council may designate a Justice of the Peace in which the city is situated, to act as Police Judge, and the Justice of the Peace so designated, must act as a Police Judge in all cases arising out of a violation of ordinances where the city is a party, and he or she shall do and perform such other duties as are provided in the Political Code, and as may from time to time be enjoined upon him or her by ordinance or order of the Council.
