139.06 ASSISTANCE OUTSIDE VILLAGE.
The Fire Department is hereby authorized to provide fire protection to any State agency or instrumentality, county, or political subdivision, without a specific mutual aid agreement. However, such aid shall be given only after approval of the Fire Chief, or, in the absence of the Fire Chief, the next person in the chain of command. This assistance shall be given only at times when the specific request comes from another jurisdiction, unless the Fire Chief has arranged an automatic response arrangement with the other jurisdiction or jurisdictions. This section specifically authorizes the Chief to arrange for automatic response arrangements with other municipalities and/or townships. Any assistance given to another jurisdiction pursuant to this section shall be given only after the officer making the decision as to whether or not to respond shall first consider the immediate needs of the Village.
