(a) Except as provided in this section, every building hereafter erected in the First Fire District shall be of Type I (fireproof) construction.
(b) Within the First Fire District, no building other than Type I (fireproof) shall hereafter be increased in height.
(c) Within the First Fire District, no building other than Type I (fireproof) construction shall hereafter be extended on any side unless the construction conforms to the requirements of this chapter for new buildings and the total area of the building as extended shall not exceed the allowable area of the type of construction of the existing building as authorized by the Zoning Ordinance.
(d) Within the First Fire District, no building or structure of Type I (fireproof) construction shall hereafter be extended on any side or in height unless the construction of such extension conforms to the requirements of this chapter for new buildings.
