The Mayor shall be elected for a term of four years commencing on January 1, next after his election. He shall be an elector of the Municipality. He shall be the chief conservator of the peace within the Municipality, and shall have the powers hereinafter conferred, perform the duties hereinafter imposed, and such other powers and duties as are provided by law. He shall be the President of Council, and shall preside at all regular and special meetings thereof, but shall have no vote except in the case of a tie. He shall preside over the Mayor's Court for the Village, and shall exercise the jurisdiction granted him pursuant to Ohio Chapter 1905, and specifically Sections 1905.01, 1905.08, 1905.17, 1905.20, 1905.21, 1905.26, 1905.27, 1905.28, 1905.29, 1905.30, 1905.31, 1905.34 and 1905.35.
