§ 34.21 INMATE MEDICAL CO-PAYMENT ATT BOONE COUNTY JAIL.
   (A)   The provisions of state law pertaining to the implementation of a Medical Co-Payment Program for county jail inmates, and the rules adopted in conjunction therewith, as proposed and explained by the County Sheriff, are hereby adopted as outlined in H.E.A. 1059, as passed by the 1994 Indiana State Legislature.
   (B)   The County Sheriff shall incorporate the changes and rules necessary to implement this program into the County Jail Inmate Handbook and provide appropriate notice to inmates of the established co-payment charge as set forth as part of the implementation of the Inmate Medical Co-Payment Program allowed by state law.
   (C)   The intent of this section shall follow that of the state legislation which is to encourage inmates to assume some financial responsibility for their health care needs when in need of medical treatment. Medical services will be provided to inmates regardless of their ability to pay.
   (D)   The County Commissioners adopt the maximum co-payment currently permitted under state law in the amount of $10. This amount shall apply to a doctors visit, dentist visit, optometrist visit or any other medical related service at the county jail.
   (E)   Any reimbursements received from the Indiana Department of Corrections for inmate housing shall be deposited into the non-reverting Corrections Fund. Any reimbursements received from the Indiana Department of Corrections for inmate medical care shall be deposited into the Public Safety LIT medical line.
