Where sites for schools, fire prevention, law enforcement, day care or other public uses indicated by the applicant, such shall be reserved for a negotiated period of time, not to exceed five years, following the date of the final approval of the plan. In the event a government agency or other entity concerned passes a resolution expressing its intent to acquire the land for its intended purpose, the reservation period shall be extended for not more than one additional year.
