§ 154.06 NAMING OF STREETS AND ROADS.
   (A)   Street classifications. In Boone County collector streets are designated with the titles of boulevard; parkway; U.S. highway; state road; avenue; and drive. Connecting streets are designated with the titles of way; loop; lane; and trail. Streets which end in a cul-de-sac or a dead end are referred to as circle; place; or court.
   (B)   Naming of streets in public and private subdivisions. A land developer may suggest street names and addresses in a development but may not insist on their approval or implementation by the Boone County Area Plan Commission. Private driveways shall not be given official street names nor shall they be assigned official street addresses using the name of the private drive since these streets/roads have not been approved for construction or accepted into the Boone County roadway system by the Boone County Commissioners and do not appear on official highway maps. Private driveways shall be assigned street addresses on the nearest federal, state or county street/road.
