§ 31.01 TOURISM COUNCIL.
   (A)   The Boone County Tourism Commission, established pursuant to Ord. 98-16, shall be known as the Boone County Tourism Council (Council).
   (B)   (1)   The Council shall be comprised of seven members. All terms of office for members shall begin January 1 and all initial terms shall begin January 1, 2003. The initial term for each appointment shall be staggered as follows: two persons for three years; three persons for two years; and two persons for one year each. Thereafter, each term shall be for a two-year period. Those whose terms expire may be reappointed.
      (2)   A simple majority of the members shall be engaged in the convention, visitor or tourism business, or shall be involved in or promoting conventions, visitors or tourism.
      (3)   At least two of the members must be engaged in the business of renting or furnishing rooms, lodging, or accommodations, if they are available and willing to serve. No more than one of these members may be affiliated with the same business entity.
      (4)   No more than a simple majority of the members may be affiliated with the same political party.
   (C)   The appointments specified for the Council shall be made by the County Commissioners and the Mayor of the City of Lebanon in the ratio specified by I.C. 6-9-18-5.
   (D)   All other actions associated with the Council shall be in conformance with I.C. 6-9-18-5 and applicable state, federal and local law.
   (E)   This section shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and the publication as is required by law.
