§ 70.04 AUTHORITY OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO PROTECT TRAFFIC SAFETY.
   (A)   In the event that it becomes necessary to protect the safety of motorists, bicyclists or pedestrians, the town's law enforcement officers may direct traffic as required and may place temporary official traffic-control devices without regard to the other provisions of this chapter. No person may refuse to comply with a lawful order of a law enforcement officer when the order is given under the authority of this section.
   (B)   The town's law-enforcement officers are authorized to arrange the towing and storage of any vehicle parked or left standing in any area designated as a fire lane.
   (C)   The town's law-enforcement officers are authorized to arrange the removal to the shoulder of the roadway or other suitable place, or the towing and storage in a safe place, of any vehicle parked or left standing such that any part of the vehicle is within the main-traveled portion of any public roadway, or interfering with the regular flow of traffic, or otherwise constitutes a hazard, within the town limits.
   (D)   The vehicle owner shall be liable for any costs incurred in the removal, storage, and subsequent disposition of a vehicle, cargo, or other personal property under the authority of state law and/or this title.
