The town seeks to protect the health, safety and welfare of citizens residing within the town who may be subject to unexpected flooding. Individuals and families who rent may be unaware that their dwelling unit is located within an area subject to flooding. It is the purpose of this subchapter to require landlords to notify prospective tenants when a rental dwelling unit is located within a flood zone.
