For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
DWELLING. Any building or structure that is or is intended to be used for living or sleeping by one or more human occupants.
DWELLING UNIT. A room or group of rooms within a dwelling forming a single independent habitable unit containing independent kitchen, sanitary, and sleeping facilities.
FLOOD ZONE. A geographical area defined by the Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA") according to varying levels of flood risk and shown on the most current Flood Insurance Rate Map subject to periodic and/or severe flooding. FLOOD ZONES present in the Town of Boone are the AE Floodway (formerly, Floodway), the AE Zone (formerly the 100-year Floodplain), and Zone X (formerly the 500-Year Floodplain).
LANDLORD. Both the owner of the property that is offered for residential lease and any agent or representative of the property owner who acts on the owner's behalf with respect to such residential rental property, including but not limited to a property manager.
