When real property adjoins a sidewalk, sidewalk area, or public and to which property access is obtained through the use of a driveway of any nature, it is the finding of the Town Board of Trustees that such driveways are the benefit to the property owner and their, but are no directly beneficial to the general public. Therefore, the owner or other person in charge of said real property shall keep those portions of the driveway adjoining the street or adjoining the sidewalk, or adjoining the sidewalk area in good condition and safe for the anticipated pedestrian and vehicular use, and it shall be unlawful for such owner or person in charge to fail to do so.
