The Town Attorney, or his or her duly designated assistant, may be the prosecuting officer of the court. He or she may prosecute, in his or her discretion, all alleged violations of the ordinances of the town. He or she shall be authorized, in his or her discretion, to prosecute and resist appeals, proceedings in error, and review from the court to any other courts of the state, and to represent the town in all proceedings arising out of matters in the court.
