No person shall drive or convey through any street or bridge any vehicle the width, height, length, weight, or load of which exceeds that authorized by state law, or which vehicle exceeds the width, height, length, weight, or load limits established by the town, county, or state as indicated by appropriate signs erected on the street, road, or bridge, unless a permit or approval has been granted therefor by the state or Town Police Chief.
