§ 33.060 OFFICE ESTABLISHED.
   There is hereby established the office of City Part-Time Police Reserve. The Police Reserves shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. The maximum number of reserves to be appointed shall be 50.

§ 33.061 ORGANIZATION.
   (A)   The Police Reserve shall be structured as follows: one executive officer, who shall be in charge of the unit; one administrative officer; four squad leaders; and 44 patrol officers.
   (B)   The supervisory personnel will function under the direction of the Chief of Police and will be responsible for the filling of assignments by members of the unit, the attendance of members at monthly meetings, participation of members in training schedules and maintaining of high morale and good deportment within the group. The reserves shall serve at the discretion of the Chief of Police. The Reserves shall receive such hourly compensation for their services at the hourly rate for services performed for the city. The hourly rate for their services used by other agencies other than the city shall be set by the Chief of Police.

§ 33.062 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.
   To be appointed as a member of the reserve unit, the applicant must be at least 21 years of age, possess excellent physical health and stamina, and have a good character and reputation. The applicant must be a citizen of the United States, resident of the city or five within ten miles of the boundaries of the city, and be free of any serious criminal violations and convictions (felony and misdemeanor convictions, other than routine traffic/parking violations, constitute evidence to be considered in this category). The applicant must also have graduated from the Police Academy or the Police Training Institute Training School. Each applicant shall be fingerprinted and checked by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and may be directed by the Chief of Police to submit to a polygraph examination.

§ 33.063 TRAINING.
   The Chief of Police shall be responsible for training in police procedures and use of weapons. Part-time reserve members shall only carry firearms while in uniform and in the performance of their duties or unless authorized by the Chief of Police.

§ 33.064 UNIFORMS.
   Members shall provide themselves with the prescribed side arm and holster. The Department will furnish a badge, cap piece, identification card and shoulder patches.
