§ 122.001 PURPOSE AND SCOPE.
   (A)   Findings.
      (1)   The city has the authority to adopt ordinances and to promulgate rules and regulations that pertain to its government and affairs and that protect the public health, safety and welfare of its citizens.
      (2)   This subchapter is adopted pursuant to the Cable and Video Customer Protection Law (220 ILCS 5/22-501 et seq.) authorizing a city to enforce all of the customer service and privacy protection standards of the section.
      (3)   The city desires to enforce the customer service and privacy protection standards with respect to complaints received from residents as provided by the Cable and Video Customer Protection Law.
   (B)   Adoption of Cable and Video Customer Protection Law, 220 ILCS 5/22-501 et seq. All prior city cable televisions ordinances, including Ord. 2450, 01-360, 2001-375, 2001-376 and 2001-377, are hereby amended by the adoption of this subchapter, and where inconsistent with this subchapter, this subchapter shall supersede said prior ordinance or ordinances, as follows: Cable and Video Customer Protection Law.
