The application shall state the name of the applicant, the applicant’s residence, place of business and such other information as may be pertinent and upon the payment of a license fee of $25 per year there shall be issued to such person a license permitting the licensee to engage in the city in the business of roofer as herein defined; provided that, the license shall also entitle the licensee to engage in the work of repairing the sides of buildings by affixing prepared asphalt or asbestos or other similar materials thereto, but the license shall not permit the licensee to engage in the business or activities of a general contractor.
