§ 90.062 REDEMPTION OF UNLICENSED ANIMALS.
   (A)   For every animal taken up and impounded, as provided in this subchapter, for which no license fee has been paid to the city, there shall be paid to the Animal Control and Welfare Officer, for the use of the city, by any resident desiring to redeem such animal, the total of the following fees:
      (1)   A $25 redemption fee for male and spayed female animals;
      (2)   A $50 redemption fee for un-spayed female animals; and
      (3)   A $20 redemption fee for each day of impoundment or fraction thereof.
   (B)   No animal can be redeemed by a resident if the animal does not have a current city license tag. If the animal does not have a current city license, the resident must pay $50, in addition to the fees listed above, to the Animal Control and Welfare Officer, who will register the animal with the city and provide the appropriate license tag.
