§ 73.06 NEW CAR PURCHASE; NEW RESIDENTIAL FEES.
   (A)   Resident requirement. Residents with newly purchased vehicles have 30 days from the date of purchase to obtain a valid vehicle license. Licenses purchased 31 days or after the date of purchase will incur a late penalty and require payment of two times the original fee.
   (B)   Half-year license fee structure for vehicle purchases. Any vehicle license issued after January 1 for a vehicle purchased after January 1 of the year will pay one-half of the cost, subject to a pro rata discount, if purchased within 30 days after the purchase of the vehicle. Licenses purchased 31 days or after the date of purchase or lease will incur a late penalty requiring payment of two times the reduced fee above. All such licenses shall expire on June 30 following the date of issuance.
   (C)   New resident requirement. New residents have 30 days from the date of their real estate closing or lease to obtain a valid vehicle license at the regular fee rate. Licenses purchased 31 days after the date of closing or lease will incur a late penalty, which will require payment of two times the original fee.
   (D)   Half-year license fee structure for new residents. Any new resident requesting a vehicle license after January 1 of the year will pay one-half of the cost, subject to a pro rata discount, if purchased within 30 days after the date of closing or lease. Licenses purchased 31 days after the date of closing or lease will incur a late penalty requiring payment of two times the reduced fee above. All such licenses shall expire on June 30 following the date of issuance.
