§ 37.112 MAYOR TO APPOINT SPECIAL AGENT.
   The Mayor is authorized and empowered, subject to the control and approval of the Committee on Finance of the City Council, to appoint an agent, who shall attend all tax sales and bid on all property subject to sale on account of delinquent special assessments, in which the city is interested and to purchase same for and on behalf of the city in default of other bidders, also to make such contract or contracts as may be necessary or desirable by one or more persons, who shall receive as compensation for their services such fees, commissions or percentage of collections or proceeds as the Committee on Finance may determine, whose duties shall be to dispose of all tax certificates and tax deeds which the city has acquired or may hereafter acquire, by reason of such tax sale, to prevent resale and forfeiture of penalties accruing to the city, to serve the notices required by law, to secure tax deeds, within statutory period, and to protect the city’s interests in all matters growing out of such sales.
