§ 34.01 PREVAILING WAGE.
   (A)   To the extent and as required by the Act, the general prevailing rates of wages in this locality for laborers, mechanics and other workers engaged in construction of public works coming under the jurisdiction of the city is hereby ascertained to be the same as the prevailing rates of wages for construction work in the Cook County area, as determined by the Department of Labor of the State of Illinois as of June of the current year (see Exhibit “A” of Ord. 13-233).
   (B)   As required by the Act, any and all revisions of the prevailing rates of wages in the county by the Department of Labor of the state shall supersede the Department’s June prevailing rates for construction work undertaken by the city. The definition of any terms appearing in the ordinance which are also used in the Act shall be the same as in the Act.
   (C)   Nothing herein contained shall be construed to apply said general prevailing rate of wages as herein ascertained to any work or employment except public works construction undertaken by the city to the extent required by the Act.
   (D)   The City Clerk shall publicly post this determination or any revisions of such prevailing rate of wages, and keep it available for inspection at the city hall by any interested party. A copy of the determination or of the currently revised determination of the prevailing rate of wages then in effect shall be attached to all contract specifications.
   (E)   The City Clerk shall mail a copy of this determination to any employer, and to any association of employers and to any person or association of employees who have filed their names and addresses, and have requested copies of any determination stating the particular rates and the particular class of workers whose wages will be affected by such rates. The City Clerk will also attach a copy of this determination of prevailing rate of wages then in effect to all public works construction contracts.
   (F)   The City Clerk shall promptly file a certified copy of this section with the Secretary of State of Illinois, Index Department 111 East Monroe Street, Springfield, IL 62756 and with the Illinois Department of Labor, Prevailing Wage Division, 900 S. Spring Street, Springfield, IL 62704.
   (G)   Within 30 days after the filing with the Secretary of State, the City Clerk shall cause a notice to be published in a newspaper of general circulation within the city.
