341.07 COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S CONSECUTIVE SERVICE AND OFF-DUTY HOURS.
   (a)   No employer, as defined in Section 341.01(k), or any other person directing the driver of a commercial motor vehicle, as defined in Section 341.01(d) or Ohio R.C. 4506.01, commercial car, or commercial tractor shall require or knowingly permit the driver to operate such vehicle within the City where such vehicle has been operated by the driver in excess of fourteen consecutive hours of service.
   (b)   No employer, as defined in Section 341.01(k), or any other person directing the driver of a commercial motor vehicle, as defined in Section 341.01(d) or Ohio R.C. 4506.01, commercial car, or commercial tractor shall require or knowingly permit the driver to operate such vehicle within the City in any twenty-four hour period until such driver has had at least eight consecutive hours off-duty, no part of which shall require the driver remain in or upon such vehicle.
   (c)   This section shall not apply in cases where there is a bona fide emergency affecting the immediate well-being, health, or safety of any person.

   (d)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.
