1501.21 FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION AND MAINTENANCE.
   (a)   Fire department connections shall be readily visible and free from obstructions at all times. Connections and indicating valves shall be identified with the address of the building or areas of the building in which they serve. Identification may be with signs or affixed numbers/letters. Affixed numbers/letters must be at least two inches in height and must be reflective and contrasting with the color of the device. Metal signs shall have raised letters at least 1 inch in size and mounted on or near the connection and/or valve.
   (b)   Buildings with multiple risers and fire department connections shall provide the fire department with diagrams showing which portion of the building each portion of the system protects.
   (c)   Fire department connection posts and indicating valves shall be properly maintained and must be painted, when applicable, red in color. Paint shall not interfere with the operation of the device.
   (d)   Other requirements not specified in this section shall comply with the Ohio Fire Code and the Ohio Building Code.
