The following words and terms, when used in this Division D, shall have the following meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. Any beverage containing more than 0.5% alcohol by volume.
ESCORT. Any individual hired for the purpose of accompanying another to or about social affairs, entertainments or places of amusement, or at any place of public resort, or within any private quarters for compensation or consideration of any kind.
ESCORT SERVICE. Any
having a source of income or compensation derived from the services of an
, or placement of an
with a customer.
ISSUING AUTHORITY. The City of Bloomington License Section.
OPERATE. To own, manage or conduct, or to have control, charge or custody over.
PERSON. Any individual, firm, association, partnership, corporation, joint venture or combination of individuals.
WITHIN THE CITY. Includes physical presence as well as telephone referrals such as phone-a- massage operations in which the business premises, although not actually located within the city, serves as a point of assignment of employees who respond to requests for services from within the city.
