§ 4.06 CANVASS OF ELECTIONS.
   The council must meet and canvass the election results at the time specified in Minnesota Statutes, and must declare the official results, and file a statement of the declaration with the city clerk. This statement must include: (a) the total number of ballots cast; (b) the total number of spoiled or defective ballots; (c) the correct vote for each candidate, with an indication of those who were elected or nominated; (d) a correct copy of the ballots used; (e) the names of the judges and clerks of election; and (f) all other required information. The city clerk must notify all persons elected or nominated of their election or nomination. The ballots and the results must be preserved in accordance with the records retention schedule and state law. The city clerk is the final custodian of all ballots or returns for the city.
