9-2-4: FIRE HYDRANTS:
   A.   Prohibitions:
      1.   Unauthorized Use: It shall be unlawful for any person, except members of a Fire Department for the uses and purposes of such department, and except such Village employees as are specifically authorized in writing by the Director of Public Works, to open any public fire hydrant or attempt to draw water from the same.       2.   Damage To, Interference With: It shall be unlawful for any person to wilfully or carelessly break, injure, or interfere with any of the public fire hydrants in the Village.
      3.   Obstructing: It shall be unlawful for any person in any manner to obstruct the use of any public fire hydrant, or place any material or vehicle in front thereof, or within fifteen feet (15') thereof at any curb; said distance to be measured from that point on the curb perpendicular to the exact location of the public fire hydrant.    B.   Penalty: Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable as provided in section 1-4-1 of this Code for each offense. (Ord. 72-7, 2-9-1972; amd. 2012 Code)
