§ 51.01  COLLECTION.
   (A)   In order to provide for the safe and sanitary disposal of solid waste generated within the jurisdiction of the city and in order to comply with the state’s Integrated Solid Waste Management Act,  being Neb. RS 13-2001 through 13-2043, the city hereby elects to establish a municipal solid waste collection system, to provide solid waste collection and disposal services for its residents and businesses.
   (B)   Pickup of refuse shall be in approved metal or plastic containers with lids secured or in properly secured and tied approved plastic bags or containers. All residential refuse shall be placed at curbside for pickup. Yard waste, lawn clippings or trimmings shall be placed in properly secured plastic bags limited to a maximum of six bags per week. If that number is exceeded, then additional charges shall be paid by users to the city’s solid waste contractor. Commercial refuse shall also be placed in approved containers and placed in appropriate business pickup locations, anticipated to be business alleys.
   (C)   Approved containers shall be metal, plastic or rubber containers not greater in capacity than 35 gallons and the same shall be equipped with lids that will properly secure or plastic bags not exceeding 35-gallon capacity, properly tied and secured. Users shall be responsible for litter or spillage prior to collection. Delivery of refuse shall be to any approved recycling location or state licensed landfill.
