It shall be the duty of the commission to recommend and make suggestions to the city council regarding transportation issues in the city. Such transportation issues shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the adoption of plans for traffic safety, coordination of city traffic safety plans with the state plans, making suggestions for projects designed to increase safety in pedestrian and school traffic in the city, reviewing and making recommendations regarding transportation projects within the city, and to generally recommend to the city council plans to improve transportation and traffic safety in the entire city.
