The airport committee shall observe the operation, maintenance and management of the airport and shall, from time to time, confer with the airport manager in an advisory capacity and with the mayor or the council member appointed by the mayor to oversee the airport. All recommendations made to the mayor or council member by such committee chairperson shall be duly considered by him and be taken into consideration in the management of the airport, so long as the recommendations are consistent with effective operation of the airport. Any such recommendation so made shall not be binding upon the mayor or council member, but if not given satisfactory consideration, the airport committee may then submit such recommendations to the city council for further consideration. The chairperson of the airport committee shall be the only member of the committee having the authority to make such recommendations to the mayor or council member. (2003 Code § 8-10-11)
