6-1-7: IRRIGATION HEADGATES AND BOXES TO BE COVERED:
   A.   Enclosed headgates and boxes for the diversion of irrigation waters, with openings at the top, are hereby recognized and declared to be attractive and dangerous to small children who are likely to play about the same and on occasion to fall into the water therein contained. (2003 Code § 6-01-16)
   B.   All persons using or maintaining such enclosed headgates and diversion boxes of sufficient size to admit the body of any child, within the city, are therefore required to keep the same securely covered and locked to regulate the irrigation waters thereby controlled. Violation of this provision shall constitute a misdemeanor, subject to penalty as provided in title 1, chapter 4 of this code. (2003 Code § 6-01-16; amd. 2012 Code)
